About me: I am an experienced, qualified, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor and Tutor. I provide a confidential , office  based service located in Hackney, East London. I am fully insured and  an accredited  member of the BACP. I adhere to their ethical framework which provides a set of values and principles to promote the quality of my practice. My therapeutic approach is Integrative, which means I draw upon elements from a range of psychological theories in order to facilitate and support my clients in exploring , gaining perspective and increasing self awareness in a way that has meaning for them.  I keep the quality of the relationship central to the therapy. As well as working with individuals in private practice , I have worked in organisational settings including Addiction, Young people and bereavement. I tutor Counselling /Psychotherapy  and mental health courses to trainee counsellors and those working in related support services   . I am able to provide both short term and long term therapy. I appreciate that choosing the right therapist to support you with your journey can feel daunting. With this in mind, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. What you can expect

Counselling involves a constructed and structured relationship between a therapist and client in which a client is supported in exploring any issues which have bought them to this point.

As a therapist I endeavour to provide you with a safe space in which you can be facilitated in making some sense of your concerns. My aim is to assist you in gaining some insight using a relational, integrative approach, and perhaps , together explore possible solutions which have meaning for you.

Counselling is an entirely confidential process. Any issues you choose to share with me will not be disclosed to anyone else except in the event of a disclosure of harm to self or others, in which case I have a legal duty of care share that information.

The decision to undertake therapy is a financial and emotional commitment. Therapy is not always a linear process. Therapeutic interventions can sometimes feel challenging and this forms part of the work.

Appointments and cost

If you have made a decision to contact me for counselling, you will be offered an  appointment for an initial assessment. This is an opportunity for us both to meet and explore  the possibility of working together. I offer both early morning and evening appointments.

The initial assessment will include some exploration of the issues you are bringing and what can be offered through counselling to help support and facilitate your current needs .The initial assessment will take  50 mins.

If we both decide to continue , sessions are offered weekly, on the same day and at the same time for the duration of therapy. Each appointment lasts 50 mins. You will be asked to read and sign a written counselling agreement.

£70 initial assessment

£70 per session

£40 per session *limited availability for trainee counselling/psychotherapy students and those on low income.

£50 per session Clinical Supervision for therapists in practice or starting practice 

*Sessions are payable in advance via bank transfer. I am happy to discuss alternatives if required. You will also be charged for cancelled appointments, unless agreed in advance.

LOCATION

My Private therapy rooms are in Trowbridge Gardens , 1 Trowbridge Road E9 5LD. This location has bike racks for client use and is just a 5 minute walk from Hackney wick Station. Local buses include 30 , 26, 388, 488. Pay and display car parking can be found on surrounding streets. 

Sessions can also take place online. For online work it is important that you have good internet connection and a confidential space to engage fully with therapy. 

My Home based practice is located in Victoria Park village. This location is served by bus routes 277, 425 and 388. Parking is restricted on the street between 10am and 12 am . Meters are available at these times.
